Testimonials

I’ve helped hundreds of people heal their relationship with food and love their bodies. Here’s a few I’ve helped.

Josie B

“With Sammie’s support, I have been able to have a much healthier pregnancy due to a reduced amount of stress caused by the lack of grace I had for myself. I’ve learned (and continue to learn) how to listen to what my body needs and wants, and how to best strike that balance… “

“I didn’t know exactly what to expect going into working with a dietitian who specializes in intuitive eating. In my head, it was going to be strictly talking about food and how I interact with it, but it ended up being so much more.

“For a long time, I’ve struggled with my relationship to food and my body, often feeling a sense of guilt associated with eating and food. I was stuck in a cycle of hating myself for indulging too much, restricting what I was eating as a result, bingeing, and round and round I went. When I found out I was pregnant, I decided enough was enough. I wanted to make changes, so I don’t spend my whole pregnancy feeling bad about myself, as well as making permanent changes for my lifestyle to better improve my quality of life, as well as that of my child.

“I immediately noticed a change in my attitude towards myself and food and my body. We worked on positive affirmations, what causes binge eating, how to eat more balanced (as well as accepting times where balanced eating doesn’t happen), and how to encourage moving for me, not for weight loss.

“So here I am, about 8 months later, in a much better place. I’m near the end of my pregnancy now, and I feel like with Sammie’s support, I have been able to have a much healthier pregnancy due to a reduced amount of stress caused by the lack of grace I had for myself, not truly understanding how to eat a balanced meal, as well as learning to embrace intuitive eating. I’ve learned (and continue to learn) how to listen to what my body needs and wants, and how to best strike that balance.

“I’ll be continuing with Sammie after pregnancy for at least some time to make sure post-pregnancy I don’t slip back into my old ways. However, I feel confident that with the support and guidance from her, combined with what I’ve learned and been practicing for the last few months, that I will be well on my way to a happy and healthy future for myself and my family.”

“Her guidance and our discussions have helped me tremendously embrace my healthy eating habits without beating myself up, finding places where fun foods belong in my life, and an overall refocus on respecting my body.”

“I reached out to Sam in June because I was struggling with the fact that my bariatric surgery weight loss had not only stopped, but I had gained a bit back and had been stuck there despite trying many things. Our conversation started out with me expecting to be “put back in line” and find ways to fix what I must be doing wrong. However, that isn’t what transpired and I am truly thankful for how it did end up playing out.

“Sam evaluated a few weeks of my food journaling and we discussed my activity… She helped me realize it is quite possible this is the place my weight should be. We talked through a few minor tweaks but the majority of our time spent was realizing all the things I was actually doing right, all of the non-scale victories I had reached, and how I might be able to change my mindset around weight loss, diet culture, and finding happiness where I am.

“Her guidance and our discussions have helped me tremendously embrace my healthy eating habits without beating myself up, finding places where fun foods belong in my life, and an overall refocus on respecting my body. While I certainly cannot change my mindset overnight, Sam has sent me on a very positive path with myself and with my relationship with food. I am truly lucky such an educated and kind nutritionist found her way into my life. I will cherish the things I have learned from her!”
