Fuji Film Wellness Fair

Hi there! I’m so honored to have had the opportunity to work at the Fuji Film Wellness Fair on September 19th! I had SO much fun preparing for the cooking demos and loved talking with some of you all about your biometric screening and health habits. Thank you for participating, watching, tasting, and sharing with me! Below you will find the recipes you sampled, some additional information about the foods we used and Brewers Organics (the star of the show with their GORGEOUS produce and condiments!!), and the handouts I provided to help you make some more sense of your biometric outcomes and what you can do to improve those numbers if needed.

Recipes

Morning Recipe: Kale, Fennel, and Apple Salad with Lemony Dressing.

Adapted from Cookie and Kate’s recipes: from the Love Real Food Cookbook (my forever favorite): Colorful Kale, Apple, and Fennel Slaw with Tart Cherries and the Kale Salad with Fennel Autumn Salad.

Handouts for Biometrics

You had various labs drawn at the wellness fair, including Cholesterol (LDL, HDL, Triglycerides, and Total Cholesterol), Blood Sugar (HbA1C, blood glucose), and Blood Pressure. The following handouts are from the main governing associations that use randomized control trials to make decisions about what improves these numbers. My best advice is to make slow and sustainable changes to your lifestyle habits, think about what you can add to your diet instead of take away, and keep moving your body in a way that feels good to you! Managing stress and sleep are also immensely important for your health.

More from Sammie

I provide nutrition counseling for disordered eating, binge eating, family nutrition, intuitive eating, and more. I am passionate about raising the next generation without the harmful effects of diet culture. I want us to raise a generation that has a healthy relationship with food and feel body confident. I mostly work with moms who want to improve their own relationship with food, improve their health, and improve their body image, so that they can model intuitive eating, healthful living, and body confidence for their children.

I do have very limited space to work with clients 1:1 at the moment. I do occasionally run groups and I have several digital courses, guides, and many free resources. Have a look around and enjoy! Feel free to reach out if you would like to work together or have questions about my offerings. I’m always happy to help! I’m very active on instagram, so have a follow there for more up and coming offerings!
